About the Artist
Rhode Island-based artist Renee Metro has been refining her stained glass craftsmanship since 1998, drawing inspiration from color, light, and the iconic designs of Frank Lloyd Wright. Her work focuses on blending aesthetics with functionality, incorporating techniques such as heat-patinated copper sheeting, decorative soldering, glass plating, wire work, and intricate glass grinding. A versatile fabricator, Renee also has experience in light carpentry, metalworking, interior home restoration, and painting. Her background as a jeweler, with expertise in semi-precious gemstones and resin bead-making, further enriches her creative process. "I feel like I've done a bit of everything, and that versatility complements my stained glass work perfectly," she says. You can find her work at Hotpoint Emporium in Bristol, RI, and online at fulcrumstainedglass.com. Don't miss her new storefront at 500 Main Street (rear entrance), East Greenwich, RI, where you can take a class or purchase supplies.
